Banquet Of Love (a pre-Easter event): Dallas/Fort Worth: The Spring Event

Operation Care’s Banquet of Love was celebrated on April 12 with 373 homeless guests and 158 volunteers.  This was our third anniversary in partnership with Cornerstone Baptist Church in South Dallas led by Pastor Chris Simmons.  Our volunteers lovingly served our homeless and impoverished children and families, offering prayer and sharing the Good News of Christ’s resurrection. More good news: 82 guests accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

The Banquet is a version of our “Jesus Loves You Midway” where guests were treated to lots of games, popcorn, peanuts, and an ice cream truck. They enjoyed a delicious hot chicken meal  while voting on the best contestant in our Homeless Got Talent Show.

This event was repeated in Fort Worth where we partnered with Open Door Church and Under the Bridge Ministries. Rain did not stop us from serving 269 homeless men, women and children  with the help of 41 loving volunteers who showed up with big smiles. Unstoppable! The work of the Lord continues whether rain or shine! And the best part: 31 homeless accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior! That’s what this is all about!

The ice cream truck that showed up with different flavors was a big hit! It gives joy to our hearts to see people happy as they have a good time playing games and forgetting their situation just for a moment. What a joy to be of service to our Lord as we celebrated His Resurrection!

Psalm 41:1 “Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.”
